This is a chilling reminder of the attitude that swept much of the left in 1968 and led crowds (I personally saw one in Boston) chanting “Dump the Hump.” So instead of Humphrey (with all of his faults and baggage) we got Nixon, and over five more years of war. In 2000 it was Ralph Nader sending the same message about the “Republicrats.” We got George W. Bush and, now, ten more years of war.
